Behind The Lens

It was the light that stopped me first—this perfect slant of sun breaking through the buildings, lining each stair in silver. She was already sitting, already reading. I didn’t direct her. I didn’t interrupt. I simply moved slowly, framed the shot, and waited for her to shift ever so slightly toward the page. That single movement, caught in the quiet, felt sacred. It’s one of those images I still return to—not because of what’s happening, but because of what isn’t.
